# 20-package-overrides
|

This example shows how to customize an existing package with `overrideAttrs`.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
It includes:
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
- a package built from `pkgs.hello`,
|
||
|
|
- one override that changes the installed program's behavior, and
|
||
|
|
- a check that proves the override took effect.
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
Useful commands:
